Love, lentils, AI

Ignacio Escañuela Romana

Artificial intelligence can do many things, but it has no meaning. It can give the recipe for lentils, but it does not know what lentils are. It can indicate what is associated with these characters (or word), but it does not know how to taste them. It can give the forecast of rain, but it does not know what rain is, much less the sound and the little touches we feel with the drops falling from the trees in the forest. Love is just a set of 0’s and 1’s to it. Nothing more. It is not what Walt Whitman cried out for man: «And whoever walks a furlong without sympathy walks to his own funeral drest in his shroud».
